Recbop Support

Recbop helps you read a script while recording a video on your iPhone. It requires iOS 17 or later.

Get started

  1. Tap + to write a script, then tap Record video.
  2. Allow camera and microphone access when prompted.
  3. Adjust the reading panel and scrolling preferences, then tap Record for the countdown.
  4. Stop to preview your take, then save it to Photos or use Share.

The teleprompter is visible while you record and does not appear in the recorded video. Use Teleprompter Only from the script editor to rehearse without recording.

Camera or microphone unavailable

Check Recbop's camera and microphone permissions in iPhone Settings. Close other apps that may be using them, then reopen the recorder. Teleprompter Only works without either permission.

A video will not save

Allow Recbop to add videos to Photos in iPhone Settings and check that your iPhone has free storage. A failed save keeps the original in Recbop. You can also use Share to export it.

Find an unsaved recording

Open Retained takes using the film-stack button in the script library. Unsaved takes remain there after closing the recorder or restarting Recbop. Sharing keeps the original; saving to Photos and tapping Done removes the app's retained copy.

Before deleting the app, save or export recordings you want to keep. Retained takes are excluded from device backups.

Scrolling and reading panel

Use Play/Pause to control scrolling. Swiping the script during playback resumes automatic scrolling after your gesture finishes. Drag the panel's top handle to move it and its bottom-right corner to resize it. Settings include text size, speed, opacity, mirroring, and Reset size.

Delete your content

Delete scripts from the library and unwanted recordings from Retained takes. Deleting a script keeps its recordings. Delete any exported copies separately in Photos or the destination app.
