Recbop Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 27, 2026
Recbop is an iPhone teleprompter and video recording app developed by Christian Lugod. This policy explains how Recbop handles your information.
Information on your device
Recbop stores your scripts, teleprompter preferences, and retained recordings on your device. Recbop does not upload this content to the developer or operate a cloud-sync service. You do not need an account.
Recbop does not include advertising, tracking, third-party analytics, or third-party crash-reporting services. The app writes local system diagnostic events about recording and playback; these events do not contain script text or recordings and are not uploaded by Recbop.
Permissions
- Camera: used to record video while you read your script.
- Microphone: used to include audio in your video recordings.
- Photos: add-only access is requested when you choose to save a recording. Recbop does not browse your existing photo library.
You can change these permissions in iPhone Settings. Teleprompter Only lets you rehearse without camera or microphone access.
Saving and sharing
When you save a video to Photos, it becomes part of your Photos library. Depending on your Apple settings, Photos may sync it through iCloud Photos. When you use Share, the app or destination you select handles the shared copy under its own privacy practices.
Recbop does not sell your information or automatically send your scripts or recordings to other companies.
Retention and deletion
Scripts remain in Recbop until you delete them. Unsaved recordings remain in the app's Retained takes section until you explicitly delete or discard them, or save them to Photos and tap Done. Sharing a recording does not delete the retained original. Deleting a script does not delete its recordings.
You can delete scripts from the script library and recordings from Retained takes. Deleting the app, rather than offloading it, removes its local app data. Copies saved to Photos or shared elsewhere must be deleted separately. Your iPhone's backup settings may include scripts and preferences; Recbop excludes its retained-recordings folder from device backups. Existing backups are managed through Apple's backup controls.
Because Recbop does not upload your scripts or recordings to the developer, the developer cannot access or recover that local content.
Support correspondence
If you email support, the developer receives your email address and whatever information you choose to include. This information is used to respond to your request and investigate the issue, and is kept only as long as needed for that purpose or to meet applicable legal obligations. You can request deletion of support correspondence by email. Please avoid sending private scripts or recordings unless needed to explain an issue.
Apple services
Apple may process App Store, TestFlight, diagnostic, backup, or Photos information according to your Apple settings and Apple's privacy practices. These services are separate from Recbop's local storage and recording features.
Changes and contact
This policy will be updated when Recbop's privacy practices change, with a revised date above.
